Eating Behaviors:
For years I have struggled with literally “inhaling” my food. People have made jokes about it since I was a small child about “how fast” I eat and ironically don’t chew like a pig. Little did they know that is because I also barely chewed! I always tried to slow down, but I had become so unconscious of it that the food still flew down my throat if I was not focused on the chewing and slowing down. I knew it was deeply seated in my subconscious but how do I access that I had no idea. That is how I ended up in Debra’s office, kind of embarrassed but not sure where to turn. Ended up I was in the right place, after one session my fast eating had greatly diminished. After another session I was eating like a normal relaxed person vs. animal. Over the last few years I have gone back for some tune-ups, seems when I get really stressed the fast eating habits return, although still never to the severity before I started with Debra. That is all I have needed to change a life-long habit that was really starting to define me, I knew if I continued down that path eventually my health would be affected, your body can only compensate for your abuse for so long.
