Alternative Medicine: The Definitive Guide published a study comparing the effectiveness of psychoanalysis, behavior therapy and hypnotherapy. The results were:
*After 600 sessions of psychoanalysis, 38% of patients reported recovery from their conditions;
*After 22 sessions of behavior therapy, 72% of those reported recovery;

*Hypnotherapy had a 93% success rate after only 6 sessions !

Health Magazine - May, 2004 Issue stated:
*According to a 1996 analysis by University of Connecticut scientists, dieters who tried hypnosis lost almost twice as much weight as those who didn't.
*In 2000, a Harvard University study of 241 patients found that those who underwent hypnosis before surgery required less pain medication, experienced fewer complications, and were discharged from the hospital sooner than patients who went without.
*A 2003 review concluded that hypnosis can be more effective than conventional pain treatments for conditions like burns and uncomfortable medical procedures like spinal taps.
